Pret a Manger releases vegan Christmas special

Behold! Pret a Manger are sticking to their guns and are fully on board the vegan express.

Earlier this year we saw the opening of the first fully veggie Pret which, after a trial period, became a landmark in high-street history. Never had we seen a high-street store devote itself to opening an exclusive veggie and vegan dedicated location. Now, along with their already expanded vegan menu, we’re seeing the inclusion of a vegan Christmas treat.

Very Merry Christmas Lunch

“A stone baked baguette layered with grilled carrots, parsnip puree and crispy onions. Finished with our very own festive chutney, a handful of freshly toasted pistachios and peppery watercress. It’s completely vegan and is being launched along side their regular Christmas menu.”

That’s how Pret describe their brand-new vegan baguette that launched on Tuesday this week. It sounds delicious and it’ll be interesting to see if it’s as well received as the other vegan products they recently launched.

Now I know it might only be one extra vegan option but it’s a seriously exciting time to be vegan.pret-vegan-christmas-baguette-e1478529769732

Finally we’re starting to see large brands and high-street stores start to take veganism seriously. Let’s face it, they have to. With more and more people becoming vegan, businesses will start to suffer if they don’t also cater for vegans.

I know I can’t wait to try the latest vegan incarnation from Pret a Manger. Let us know your thoughts on the baguette in the comments below!
